8NA | Boyds, London, Uk
As a former grand hotel, 8 Northumberland Avenue has its roots firmly in Victorian London. Today it has been completely restored to its former glory to become one of the finest central London venues and we are proud to have been part of that.
Nugget Design was commissioned to revamp the general look and feel including the grand ballroom, old billiard rooms, the salons, the toilets and common areas to keep the look and feel of this space up to date with the new brand. This was achieved through the use of honest materials and quality craftsmanship. A feature wall map illustrating the venue’s central location takes pride of place in the gent’s toilets. Warm wood panelling and bespoke sandblasted mirrors gave a nod to its rich heritage. This approach was married with modern features including ‘No touch’ technology, with infrared toilet and urinal flush as well as Phillips LED lighting.
Nugget Design spent many months developing concepts and refining them to ensure we had the perfect balance of modernity and classic when developing the carpet designs for the complete refurbishment. Dark and light smoky greys with uncanny wood like textures were the chosen route for the corridors and a modern take on the original ball room design was a complete winner for our client and of course their corporate clients too.
The choice of greys allows 8NA to become more versatile when being hired for functions with there being no chance of colours clashing or clients not wanting the space due to the bold red and gold carpets which once adorned the floors of this stunning building.
